Trusty

I am going to be a teacher at Trusty when I grow up. It's my dream and my teacher has inspired me.

Greetings from the Principal:
Welcome to Trusty School! Trusty has a long history, beginning in 1890 on the corner of Sixth Street and Mussett Avenue. The current building was completed in 1928 after a fire in the previous structure. Trusty's graduates include bank presidents, business owners, governmental officials and many others.

Trusty is an Arkansas Blue Ribbon School of Excellence, and has won the International Reading Association Exemplary Reading program Award for Arkansas, one of only 26 given in the nation.

The population of the school represents one of the most diverse in the district, having students who speak six different languages at home. We welcome and cherish diversity, and use the fact to learn tolerance and appreciation for people who are different from ourselves.

We begin each day with "The Morning Show," a multi-media program we use to get everyone off to a good start. Our motto, "Changing the Community, One Student at a Time," speaks well for our efforts at Trusty.

Sarah Lavey, Principal
